This is a key leadership role for a proven electrical construction professional who has successfully managed complex projects valued at $10 million or more. The ideal candidate understands how to lead project teams, manage client relationships, drive schedules, control costs, support field operations, and deliver high-quality work safely and profitably.

We are looking for someone who can step into a leadership role, own the project from planning through closeout, and represent Whitehead Electric with professionalism, urgency, and accountability.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading electrical construction projects from preconstruction turnover through final closeout. You will work closely with field leadership, clients, general contractors, vendors, subcontractors, internal operations, accounting, safety, and executive leadership.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage large electrical construction projects with contract values of $10 million or greater.
  • Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, procurement, documentation, change management, and closeout.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, general contractors, construction managers, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Partner closely with Superintendents and field leadership to support manpower planning, material releases, installation sequencing, productivity, safety, and schedule execution.
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, contracts, scopes of work, schedules, and change documents.
  • Identify, submit, negotiate, and track change orders.
  • Manage project financial performance, including cost reporting, forecasting, billings, labor tracking, and margin protection.
  • Lead project meetings and maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate procurement of major equipment, gear, lighting packages, feeders, devices, subcontractor scopes, and other project materials.
  • Ensure project documentation is accurate, organized, and current.
  • Support safety planning and reinforce a strong jobsite safety culture.
  • Drive QA/QC processes, punch list completion, turnover documentation, as-builts, O&Ms, and project closeout.
  • Anticipate issues, solve problems quickly, and keep projects moving forward.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate has a strong electrical construction background and a track record of successfully managing large, complex projects.

Required qualifications

  • 8+ years of electrical construction project management experience.
  • Proven experience managing electrical construction projects valued at $10 million or more.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction sequencing, project documentation, field coordination, procurement, and cost control.

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and schedules.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to support and coordinate field teams.
  • Excellent communication, organization, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients, general contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction project management tools.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with mission-critical, data center, healthcare, higher education, industrial, or large commercial projects.
  • Experience managing projects with significant manpower, complex phasing, fast-track schedules, or major equipment coordination.
  • Construction management degree, engineering degree, or equivalent field experience preferred.
